Time For A Slumber Party!

Trying to come up with birthday ideas or easy entertainment ideas for your kids can sometimes be daunting. I mean, haven’t you already done it all? I am always thinking of what next year’s birthday party will be.

My daughter Stephanie enjoys almost any party, no matter what the theme. (Simply because it includes presents and cake!) But for those of you that have kids with their own ideas and opinions of what they would like for their parties, why not suggest a slumber party?

It doesn’t have to mean an overnight slumber party either. Unfamiliarity and separation can cause anxiety for little ones that haven’t experienced an overnight sleep over yet.  PJ’s, pillows, blankets, movies, treats and cake are just as much fun during the day!

Allowing children to experience a daytime slumber party will give them the opportunity to build the needed social skills at this kind of an event without the added fears and anxiety of being away from home.

No slumber party is complete though without some sort of secret hideaway. It could include a homemade fort made out of sheets and sofa cushions or consider using a couple of play tents grouped together in front of the television or set up a screen for a projector movie. The great thing about play tents is that they can be used over and over, for different themes, different events, and for each of your children throughout the year.

The options are endless when planning a slumber party, and the benefits are substantial! Your children and their friends enjoy a relaxing, carefree get together and you get to host and enjoy a much less stressful party! Don’t wait for birthdays either. Having these quick, easy to throw together events for your little ones more often may even make you parent of the year! Well, probably not, but it will keep them out of your hair more often!

Sweet Dreams,
